Perhaps a man, perhaps a moon goddess, a bunny pounding mochi, a woodcutter and his healing tree? The folklore behind the mid-autumn moon is as abundant as the harvest that this moon represents. In 2022, we celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival by painting the moon and watching it rise over Oakland’s Chinatown in partnership with Friends of Lincoln Square Park and Cut Fruit Collective.
